Removal of approximately 14,800 TF of existing track on wood ties including excavation, grading, and subgrade preparation for new track. Installation of 14,800 TF of new track along Freehold branch. New track constructed using a combination of wood and steel ties based on location and operating requirements of the railroad. New trackwork included installation of two (2) no. 10 insulated turnouts to reconnect track Wye in Farmingdale to operating tracks. Tie renewal within existing track to remain keeping track within safe operating condition. 810 ties removed/replaced. Installation of new stone gabion wall to restore track subgrade in location of steep shoulder grade. Repair and extend concrete headwall to restore track after washout. Upgrade existing/install 16 at grade-crossings on same branch with 6” base rail on new ties. All crossings upgraded to 132RE rail with new insulated joints, ep-flex rubber rail seal, and asphalt paving. All crossings updated to current NJDOT standards for striping, signage, and signal improvements.
