PANYNJ: Port Jersey Marine Terminal – Construction of Second Lead Track

Removal and disposal of 1,800’ of existing track, 2 existing turnouts, as well as the removal and reinstallation of 1 existing turnout. Installation of 3,500’ of new track on timber ties, 1,550’ of new track on composite ties, 3 new turnouts, bumpers and track derails. Raising, aligning and surfacing 2,850’ of existing track with new ballast. Construction of 255’ of new concrete grade crossings and rail seal. Installation of site wide drainage, geocell slope stabilization matting, grading, paving, clearing/grubbing, and the installation of 1,600’ of new chain link fencing. Offsite disposal of 12,000 tons of excavated soil and ballast. All work took place in an active rail yard.
